The Armstrong family have been in Malawi now for just over eight years, for the last five of which they have been based in Blantyre at the I.M.P. Centre.
Currently Matt is teaching at a Bible College (Evangelical Bible College of Malawi) three days a week and continuing to lead a house church, which they have called Namiwawa Christian Church. This is at present based at their house. Bec is managing the home and doing some voluntary work while the children, Luke (8) and David (6), are going to school in an international primary school.
Their lives are filled with varied activities from managing the I.M.P. Centre accommodation to ferrying children to school each day. The church in their home has been a blessing, as they have been able to meet many local people, adults and children. The church has a growing children’s work which they trust they will be able to expand this year. Alongside the children’s work they run weekly Bible studies, and Matt has started a weekly devotional publication called 'On eagles' wings'. Last year they held a short course on ‘Amos’, which was well received. They trust that this area of biblical teaching will be something that can be pursued more this year.
They would like prayer for the coming months that the church may grow in maturity and the knowledge of God and that leaders will emerge that are of the Lord.
They believe that they are called to be the children of God, living and following the Lord Jesus as they serve him as a family.
