Introducing Joelle Holland with children she has fostered, South Africa

Joelle Holland

Joelle lives in Cape Town, South Africa, working with vulnerable young people from the Cape Flats. As part of her work she teaches and volunteers at a Christian school for teenagers (School of Hope) who have struggled to complete their education in the past. She also volunteers helping refugees from other African countries find work and schooling. This is through a new organisation called Adonis Musati Project that started in 2007 in response to the desperate situations of the many Zimbabweans that have descended on South Africa in recent years.

Joelle also has three foster daughters, Ode, Lee-Anne and Lindo. Ode is Congolese born and has been living with her for almost six years. She recently completed High School and is looking forward to playing soccer in America on a university scholarship. Lee-Anne is Cape Town born and has been with her for three years, and despite huge setbacks she also finished school in 2009. Lindo is Xhosa by birth and is 10 years old and has been living with her for a year. They are all wonderful girls.

Her other activities include volunteering with Ambassadors in Sport (Soccer Ministry) and their two ladies’ soccer teams that she helped start in 2006. She also does a little prison ministry through her church, when time allows.
